Traditionally Dia de los Muertos is observed on Nov. 1st and 2nd. This is a pre-Columbian celebration of duality: life and death. We invite our departed ones to the celebration with altars we create in their honor. We guide them with candles, fragrant zempazuxitl flowers (also known as marigolds,) and pan de muerto (special bread for the occasion.) In addition, we offer to them the things they loved: food, drink, and objects that were meaningful for them. In this essence we reunite and rejoice.
This Tepachanga has been carefully brewed at Estudio Phi*,
Special thanks to all the performers and friends who made possible this event.
